Construction Sector Council
The Canadian Home Inspector and Building Official (CHIBO) project began with a goal of producing a single national certification program for both the home inspectors and building code inspectors. After being engaged for the project, our analysis concluded that the occupations were in fact quite different, and would need radically different approaches to certification. We proceeded to create two national certification and accreditation models, based on the ISO 17024 standard, tailored to the individual needs of each occupation.
In addition to the certification and accreditation models, Griffiths Sheppard also wrote the business case for national certification, created a business plan and implementation framework, and assisted in the creation of the communication and marketing plans for the new national certification programs.
