Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors
CAHPI received funds from the federal government to create a national certification framework and to pilot test a national certification program for home and property inspectors. CAHPI engaged Griffiths Sheppard to lead the project.
The project included creating a National Certification Committee, all policy related to National Certification, and the recruiting and training of committee members.
When the committees were created and were ready to operate, about 100 ‘pilot’ home and property inspectors from across Canada went through the certification process and became nationally certified.
At the same time, training providers who wished to be accredited against the certification scheme’s training requirements were reviewed and accredited where appropriate.
By the end of the project the committees were functioning efficiently, and began to certify new applicants. One year after the completion of the pilot, the number of nationally certified home and property inspectors reached 300.
