Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (BC)
CAHPI BC represents home and property inspectors in British Columbia. In 2006 CAHPI BC was pressuring the government of British Columbia to require that home and property inspectors be licensed to practice.
Griffiths Sheppard were engaged to help CAHPI BC develop the internal processes and structure that would help persuade the provincial government that CAHPI BC was the best organization to serve as the certifying body for the industry, based on the recently completed National Certification Program. Numerous meetings and policy guidance sessions were help, and policies, procedures and organizational structures were modified to create a stronger and more accountable organization ahead of the decision on licensing.
Ultimately, the BC government decided to place responsibility for licensing in the hands of Consumer Protection BC. However, the changes in structure and governance have allowed CAHPI to achieve a pre-eminent position as the leading organization and voice of the industry in BC.
